As part of the SYSTEM-HUBS project, traditional schools are transforming into "Living Labs" where students take the lead in driving real-world environmental change One of the most exciting hands-on projects they are running? Zero-Waste Cafeterias! Instead of just throwing leftovers away, students are stepping up to actively track food waste, compost, and introduce sustainable meal plans For example, our partner school JVIZ OŠ Dobrna in Slovenia is already leading the way by following healthy eating guidelines, using locally sourced ingredients for school lunches, and cooperating with local farmers to share agricultural experiences By partnering with local businesses to develop sustainable waste management strategies, these students are putting the circular economy into practice and turning their cafeterias into real-world solutions for a greener future.
